Went today the 17 of December,went for the posh fish and chips, when it came the batter fish was like soggy bread .Would have sent it back but we were very hungry having to wait 45 minutes for our meal to arrive

We only had food at this place after staying in a local bnb. Prebooked our table and so glad we did. A table of 8 all had starters mains and deserts. Service was great, staff were friendly, happy for us to take a dog into the bar too.
All our food was great and we all rated it very high and would definitely recommend and definitely return next year on our yearly weekend away!

Lovely meal, huge portion size. Would recommend booking or you won't get a table. Was busy so min 2 hours per reservation when we were there.

Fantastic home cooked food, loads of menu choices. all staff were so friendly and helpful. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we walked in.
It’s the perfect place to dine or pop in for a quick drink and chat with the locals.

Fantastic service.
Food is incredible, and the portions are epic.
We had the forest full English and were totally spoilt with the delicious food.
Staff were very attentive and friendly.
This was an accidental find but we are glad we stopped by. Would come again.

We are a business close by and wanted to treat the team to Friday lunch pizza.
From ordering to collection the process was seamless, the pizza was really freash, delicious, homemade and colourful.
We'll be ordering again soon!

Lovely rooms & owners, however found one bar staff with black short hair very rude & obnoxious demanded us to order food straight away as kitchen closing earlier than stated.
This happened on 2 occasions by said lady
I was also disgusted at her petty comment while smirking asking if I could afford to pay for rooms for me and my colleague's?
Accommodation lovely & Wayne is a fantastic host just a shame the stay was let down by one rude staff member who acted like she runs the establiment.

We have come across this place twice. Both times by accident while travelling and both times have been great. Good proper food. Good portions and reasonably priced. Great service too.

Came in while people still eating. Impolitely told us the kitchen was closed. Didn't offer any alternatives near by or apologise.
Should clearly advertise kitchen close time.

my hubby an l stayed here on our way home from tenby it was a lovely surprise the room was lovely round the back of pub very quiet the food was gorgeous an there was alot of it staff were very attentive locals made us feel welcome definitely want to go back x

Luna (6 yo dog) disgusted that they’ve run out of pork scratchings and had to make do with dog treats, chips, chicken nuggets, a bit of burger and pizza crusts! …and don’t think being hand fed sausage by the owner can make up for it 🤪 We shan’t come again until tomorrow!!

The room was clean with biscuits and good variety of beverages on the drinks tray, bed was so comfortable and so quiet at night as rooms are behind the pub. Perfect for a bed for the night when visiting family in Mitcheldean, sadly left too early to have breakfast but had lunch there later and it was lovely.

An extremely welcoming place, amazing food and an easy stay. The food here is definitely one to go for; HUGE portions, great quality food and perfectly cooked. Even the breakfast was delightful. Will definitely go here for food again when passing!

Really great find. All of the staff (from the bar staff to waiters/ waitresses and owners) were absolutely lovely - very friendly, polite and attentive.
We stayed in a family room (room 8) which was good - really comfy beds and great to have actual beds for the kids, rather than the usual sofa/ pull out beds.
Food was homemade and really delicious with fantastic portion sizes. They also had my favourite on tap (Korev).
Where other hotels and restaurants are cutting corners to save money, the Yew Tree add the finishing touches and hire lovely staff which made our visit memorable.
Thank you - we will hopefully be back and have time to sample the Sunday roast next time :)
